Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Porchia James is a native to Dallas, TX. Dr. James attended Xavier University of Louisiana for her undergraduate career, where she graduated in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the Meharry Medical College in 2008. After graduation from dental school, Dr. James was promoted to Captain in the US Air Force where she was stationed at Keesler AFB (Biloxi, MS), RAF Lakenheath, UK (England), and Shaw AFB (Sumter, SC). Dr. James decided to return to an additional 4 year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Meharry Medical College. During her residency, she trained alongside ENT, plastic surgeons and licensed anesthesiologists. She gained valuable skills in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and the safe administration of anesthesia.
